Apprenticeships

ApprenticeshipsWesTrac is one of the largest employers and trainers of apprentices in the country with over 300 apprentices employed at any one time.  All of our apprentices undergo a comprehensive and thorough apprenticeship training programme either at the WesTrac Institute (WA) or at selected TAFE WA or TAFE NSW institutions.

Our apprenticeship programmes are of 3 1/2 years duration and are structured around nationally recognised training qualifications.

WesTrac offer the following apprenticeships:

  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (Road Transport).
  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (Plant).
  • Automotive Electricians.
  • Boilermaker Welders.
  • 1st Class Machinists.
  • Fitter Machinists.

The quality of our training is often reflected in the demand for our qualified apprentices, with recruited apprentices usually being offered positions within the company at the conclusion of their apprenticeship.

Competition for our apprenticeship programme is extremely high, so to ensure you have the best chance of securing one of these career opportunities, you should carefully consider the trade stream that you are most interested in.
