WesTrac uses the clean dry-coating HVOF process for repairing Hydraulic Cylinder Rods.
Compared to the traditional chroming method, which is not friendly to the environment and is very time consuming to perform (generally 2 – 3 days), HVOF
takes just 2 – 3 hours to complete and is far friendlier to the environment.
WesTrac’s HVOF method was developed by Caterpillar Inc using its own formulated powder and involves spraying metal onto the rod at twice the speed of sound.
The HVOF process is a similar price to chrome and its life expectancy is at least twice that of chrome.
