Fitter Machinist Apprenticeship

A Fitter and Machinist manufactures, repairs, and fits metal components for production machines and other equipment. They use a range of tools and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment to operational standards. At WesTrac this would include disassembly and assembly of Cat components, hydraulic systems, precision measurement, diagnosis/fault finding, lathe operation, horizontal boring and milling machine operation - in NSW & Perth.

School requirements

  • School Leaver - OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8
  • Non-School Leaver - C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent
  • AQF - Certificate I or Certificate II

Qualification

MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter Machinist)
