Go Next Level with Cat Next Generation Mini Excavators

Cat Next Generation Mini Excavators are diverse and built to accommodate a big range of job requirements. But, with four weight classes, and specialised machines within each class, choosing the right combination of equipment for your business can be challenging.

We've put together this guide to help you find which mini excavator is best suited to your operation.

1 to 2.5 tonne mini excavators

Working in small spaces has never been so easy – or so comfortable. Choose from four models with industry-first features that improve performance, comfort and control.

When considering a 1 to 2.5 tonne mini excavator, it's important to consider the mode of transport you’re using to get your machine from a to b, the dig depth needed, lift capacity needed (i.e. Is there a particular block or casting to lift), do you require zero swing or just short swing, is air conditioning wanted and what access width is required.

2.5 to 4 tonne mini excavators

This range has expanded to include three new high-performance models: the 302.7 CR, 303 CR and 303.5 CR. All around that 3.5-4 tonne weight and offering innovative new features such as sealed and pressurised air-conditioned cab, as well as tilt-canopy/cab for faster maintenance and repair.

Plus, all Next Gen models come with industry-first technology advantages including stick steer, cruise control, adjustable hydraulic speeds and more.

4 to 7 tonne mini excavators

Cat 304, 305 CR and 306 CR Next Generation Mini Excavators are packed with all the industry-leading next gen technology and features including joystick travel mode, adjustable dig speed, cruise control with auto 2-speed and the comfort of a large sealed and pressurised aircon cab.

If you’re in the market for a 5 tonne machine, this is the weight class you need. However, it’s important to ignore the model nomenclature stickers as these are all around 5 tonne machines that are packed with different benefits for different applications.

7 to 10 tonne mini excavators

Anything but mini, these machines provide strength when you need it. The new 8-11 tonne Cat Next Gen Mini Excavators provide a powerful range of options to choose from.

These really are small big excavators, not big mini excavators!
