Apprenticeships

WesTrac is one of the largest employers and trainers of apprentices in the country with over 500 apprentices employed at any one time.  All of our apprentices undergo a comprehensive and thorough apprenticeship training program either at the WesTrac Institute (WA) or at selected Training WA or TAFE NSW institutions. 

The quality of our training is often reflected in the demand for our qualified apprentices, with recruited apprentices usually being offered positions within the company at the conclusion of their apprenticeship.

Our apprenticeship programs are structured around nationally recognised training qualifications.

Applications for 2012 apprenticeships have now closed. The 2013 apprenticeship applications will be advertised throughout July 2012 online and in local newspapers.

The apprenticeship duration in WA is 3.5 years. WesTrac offer the following apprenticeships in various locations across WA:

• Hydraulic Component Overhauler
• New Mobile Equipment Assembler
• Transmission Overhaulers
• Engine Overhaulers
• Final Drive Overhaulers

New South Wales / ACT

Our apprenticeship programs are structured around nationally recognised training qualifications.

Apprenticeship applications are online each year for the following year.  These are open from July and close early August.  WesTrac also advertise in all local papers around this time for the following year's intake.

The apprenticeship duration in NSW / ACT is 4 years. WesTrac offer the following apprenticeships in various locations across the region:

• Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (Mobile Equipment).
• Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (Road Transport)
• Automotive Electricians
• Boilermaker Welders  
• Spray Painters
• Parts Interpreter

WesTrac also offering the following traineeship which run for a duration of 2 years:

• School Based Trainee (Automotive).
