Introducing the WesTrac WA Next Generation Fluid Lab

Zibeon is the WesTrac WA Laboratory Supervisor who currently oversees our new Next Generation Fluid Lab. Here is what Zibeon had to say in the video.

I’ve overseen the introduction of the #NextGen laboratory system here in WA. Here we look at all the mechanical fluids in your machinery, engine oils, hydraulics, transmissions, final drives… you name it. Essentially we’re collecting a whole bunch of different data points about the condition of your oil from the presence of any particles, dirt, debris, wear, and metals, down to viscosity and up to its infrared profile.

All these data points give us an idea of what condition your machine’s oil is in, whether you’re good to go, or whether you need to replace it. We produce the report that lets you know the best way to get the best value out of all your machinery.

The biggest advantage of what you are going to get from SOS sampling here at WesTrac is that we can pick up on small problems before they become massive ones.

So you can choose to take your machinery out of action for a short amount of time to take a quick sample or you can leave it to possibly become a massive repair job down the road.

If you think about the small amount of money that you would spend to make sure your machine’s oil is in good condition, and that your machinery is operating how it should, versus the cost of a massive repair when something goes wrong and the associated downtime, choosing to invest in sampling is a no-brainer.

The WesTrac Next Generation Laboratory System is a state-of-the-art custom-built system that represents a three year collaboration between WesTrac and two other engineering firms – Autonoma in Perth and HF Innovation in Germany.

The lab took three months to install and is the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
