Why was Cat GC range introduced?

Caterpillar recognised the need to design products to meet the needs of different types of customers. The Cat GC Range was designed for customers who want Caterpillar quality and reliability, but have different operating characteristics and on-site requirements that influence their decision on which product is right for them. To cater for these customers, Caterpillar split their product offering into two types of machines:

1. Performance Machines

Suited for customers who require the most from their machines and value productivity, machine performance and the latest technology offerings above all else.

2. Standard (GC) Machines

Suited for customers with a focus on cost and value, who are happy to balance machine performance and productivity to meet their specific job requirements.
