Red Dust Holdings Secures WA’s First Cat® RM800

Red Dust Holdings is set to receive Western Australia’s first Cat RM800 in August, marking a major upgrade to its earthmoving fleet. After extensive testing and inspections across the country, RDH selected the high‑powered RM800 for its unmatched performance in soil stabilisation and road rehabilitation.

Red Dust Holdings new RM800 is awaiting shipment from factory in Minerbio, Italy. This will be the first RM800 in WA and is due to arrive in August.

Red Dust Holdings (RDH) is a privately owned earthmoving company offering a range of solutions to an extensive client base throughout Western Australia. Established in 2010, RDH’s head office in Geraldton has expanded to include support offices in Perth and Kalgoorlie.

The journey toward the purchase of the RM800 first started with a demonstration of a smaller RM400 at one of RDHs projects in the Mid-West. The RM400 worked well, but it was thought that if the RM400 can work this well how much better would the RM800 be.

RDH’s Managing Director Josh Johnson & WesTrac’s Account Manager Greg Pike travelled to Mackay QLD to inspect a RM800 working there to make an assessment to see if it would come up to RDHs standards.

With the help of Hastings Deering and Caterpillar®, Josh received a full run down on the RM800.

The RM800 is powered by a high-output Cat C18 twin turbo engine @ 601 kW (806 hp) & weighing in at around 35,000kg, the RM800 combines advanced all-wheel drive traction, multiple steering modes, and an ergonomic operator station to ensure productivity, precision, and ease of operation on any job site. Its System K rotor and durable, service-friendly design make it a standout solution for demanding civil construction environments.
