Greatland Welcomes Its First Cat Machine: A Cat 6060 Hydraulic Mining Shovel
Greatland, one of Western Australia’s emerging gold and copper producers, has marked a major milestone at its Telfer operations with the purchase of its first-ever Cat machine – a new Cat 6060 Hydraulic Mining Shovel. Delivered and assembled by WesTrac at the Telfer site, this hydraulic mining shovel represents a significant investment in productivity, reliability, and long-term operational performance for Greatland’s expanding mining portfolio.
To support the delivery, WesTrac’s newly formed Digger + Drill Services Team (D+DS) travelled to Telfer to undertake the complete onsite assembly. The result? A world‑class machine assembled piece by piece over just 16 days, captured in this full timelapse video.
A Strong Partnership for the Future
WesTrac is proud to support Greatland as they integrate their first Cat machine into the Telfer operation. The successful delivery and assembly of the Cat 6060 marks the beginning of a promising partnership between two organisations committed to safety, capability, and innovation in the mining sector.
A full feature story with Greatland is currently in production and scheduled for release mid‑2026, offering an in‑depth look at their experience with the machine and their growing relationship with WesTrac.
WesTrac looks forward to continuing to support Greatland as their operations expand and evolve.
