Introducing the Cat TUL100: My first look at ConExpo 2026
If there’s one thing you can count on at ConExpo, it’s that Caterpillar will always find a way to steal the show. This year in Las Vegas was no exception. Among all the iron, innovation and adrenaline on display, one piece of equipment drew some of the biggest crowds.
Introducing the Cat® TUL100; Caterpillar’s compact utility loader that made its global debut at the event. I had the chance to see it up close, watch it in action, and chat with the team behind its development. And let me tell you—the hype is real.
If you’ve seen all the videos circulating on social media, you already know this machine is built with a clear purpose: delivering serious performance in places larger equipment simply can’t go.
Small footprint. Serious capability
The Cat TUL100 packs an impressive 1,000 lb (454 kg) rated operating capacity, making it a powerful option for tight access job sites, landscaping operations, construction projects, property maintenance—you name it.
What really stood out to me were the two track width options — 36 inch (914 mm) and 42 inch (1067 mm). Walking around the display, you could immediately see how contractors who constantly navigate gates, pathways or built-up residential sites will appreciate that flexibility.
And under the hood? A reliable 24 hp (17.9 kW) Cat C1.1 turbo diesel engine—compact but powerfu.. Caterpillar also equipped the TUL100 with a robust hydraulic system that delivers impressive attachment performance, which is essential for a machine this size.
Built for versatility
One of the things I like most about compact utility equipment is the sheer range of jobs it can take on when paired with the right attachments. The TUL100 takes that to the next level.
Caterpillar is offering a wide attachment range, including:
Watching operators demo the machine at CONEXPO, you could immediately see how intuitive it is to control. The multifunction joysticks looked smooth and responsive, and the machine supports customisable operator settings, which is a huge win for mixed crews or rental environments.
Add to that multiple coupler options, and it’s clear Caterpillar designed this loader for real-world jobsite flexibility.
Operator-focused design
Another highlight is the loader’s Cat VisionLink™ compatibility, which will make integrating the TUL100 into larger fleets far simpler. Tracking utilisation, maintenance and productivity from anywhere is becoming essential—and the TUL100 is already future-ready.
What about Australia?
Right now, Caterpillar is targeting commercial availability in North America in early 2027. As for Australia—there are no confirmed announcements yet. I know many of our WesTrac customers are keen to get their hands on this machine, and trust me… after seeing it in person, I completely understand.
For now, the message is simple: stay tuned. As soon as Caterpillar provides an update for our region, WesTrac will keep you informed.
If the TUL100 is any indication of what’s ahead, the future of compact equipment is looking incredibly bright—and I can’t wait to see where this machine goes next.
