How it works
The GOC is an international competition organized by Caterpillar®, where machine operators from around the world showcase their skills to earn the prestigious title of "world champion."
In each stage of the competition, operators face a series of challenges designed to test their agility, speed, and accuracy in operating a range of Cat machinery, from small to large, including integrated technology.
The GOC consists of four major events, each designed to progressively eliminate competitors until only one champion remains:
- Heat Events: The initial stage of the GOC, hosted by WesTrac, aims to narrow down the field. Top-scoring competitors from these events advance to the final event.
- Final Event: This decisive event determines the top finalists. The winner of the final event will represent WesTrac at the Regional Semi-Final in Japan. WesTrac will have one winner from Western Australia and one from New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory.
- Regional Semi-Finals: Held in October in Japan, the Asia Pacific Semi-Final pits the two WesTrac winners against other top operators from the ANZP region. The top three finalists from this stage will move on to the Global Final in Las Vegas.
- Global Final: The ultimate showdown takes place in Las Vegas in March 2026, where the GOC global winner will be crowned.
