With our huge inventory of new, used and rental equipment, WesTrac has the right machine for the job.
Roy Barker, WesTrac’s, Chief Engineer (FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus)) was recently recognised and awarded the status of Engineering Executive (EngExec), and elected to the grade of Fellow, by the Institution of Engineers Australia.
The EngExec award recognises prominent individuals in senior engineering roles and signifies the well-earned prestige of individuals at the highest tier of their industry. EngExec is an invitation-only credential, reserved for members who play a significant role as an engineering professional to improve or influence how engineering is treated for the industry they operate in.
Election to the grade of Fellow recognizes the important contribution made to the Engineering profession and to Engineers Australia.
Roy commented “After working for 37 years as an engineer, I am extremely proud of being provided with these prestigious awards and for the industry recognition. More importantly, I’m proud of the team that have supported me and the work that we are doing to manage the risks of the products we sell and the solutions we provide for our customers”.
When Roy commenced at WesTrac over 8 years ago, the engineering team consisted of a technical writer and a graduate engineer. With Roy’s leadership, the team has grown in both maturity and resource, which validates the high level of work they do to support WesTrac and their customers. Customers are now contacting the engineering team direct, which reflects the quality work they do to support their requirements and needs.
Jarvas Croome, Chief Executive Officer and CPEng, WesTrac, commented “Roy’s award signifies the dedication and commitment that he and his team provide to service the needs of WesTrac’s customers and to ensure we have the right structure and governance in place to manage the engineering function at WesTrac. It is well deserved and reflective of Roy’s talent and leadership”.
The EngExec award and Fellow status are the highest levels for an engineer, with only a small number being awarded in Western Australia. Roy’s future vision is to hand over a world class engineering team and to continue to build on the foundation and great work already being developed in the mining and heavy equipment management industries.
