With our huge inventory of new, used and rental equipment, WesTrac has the right machine for the job.
The Cat S•O•S™ Services Program is a mutual commitment to protect the performance and value built into your Cat equipment. The program combines the simple process of fluid sampling with state-of-the-art analysis and clear, easy-to-understand reporting via Cat S•O•S Web (from within My.Cat.Com). It creates not only optimsed machine performance, but also improved cost control. S•O•S allows you to see what is going on inside your machine and detect problems before they become serious.
To start you need to buy a sampling kit and take a sample. You can buy kits over the phone (1300 881 064) or online via Parts.Cat.Com (PCC). For pricing and part numbers, click here.
Use the pre-paid postage bag inside the kit (which will have the correct address on it) to mail your sample. While you wait for results, visit our Cat S•O•S training resources page.
Cat S•O•S (Services) Web is the S•O•S program's user-friendly web interface, which is accessed by logging into My.Cat.Com (MCC) - you must register for MCC first.
With Cat SOS Web you can view and analyse your fluid sample information online - anywhere, anytime and on any device.
We have a range of Cat SOS Web training resources available by clicking below. You'll find downloadable guides, videos and a recorded webinar.
The Cat S•O•S Services program provides you with an accurate account of the health of your engines, power generators and other major components. This knowledge allows you to schedule maintenance and oil changes more effectively while maintaining maximum reliability and increasing overall productivity.
The health of your equipment is determined by sampling and testing oil and coolant. Standard tests include wear rate analysis, oil cleanliness analysis, oil condition analysis and detection of fuel, water and glycol. Additional tests may be performed if needed.
Effective preventative maintenance is estimated to be 3 to 5 times more cost-effective than unscheduled maintenance and repair. In many instances, S•O•S has detected the need to replace a small part, which has prevented the failure of a major component.
Surveys consistently show major benefits for users who rely on the Cat S•O•S Services program . A 10:1 payback ratio is common when comparing the amount saved on repair costs to the amount invested in S•O•S Services. This is conservative, especially when coupled with reduced downtime, greater productivity, and increased used machine value as the analysis identifies potential problems before they become catastrophic failures and cause unplanned downtime.
Our state-of-the-art ISO 9001 certified in-house laboratory is staffed by specially Caterpillar trained technicians, experienced in Cat equipment. For you, this offers a major benefit compared to outsourcing from other external suppliers. WesTrac specialist technicians know exactly what metallurgical specifications were designed into each part and component.
Our team has over 50 years' experience and conducts more than 400,000 oil tests every year. If test results point to a potential problem, you will be provided with carefully outlined recommendations immediately (Available via Cat SOS Web).
Our team has put together a guide that explains how to take a fluid sample for accurate results. It covers taking a sample using an oil valve probe and vacuum extraction. Download it by clicking below. If you'd like more tips, Caterpillar have also put together an instructional video that teaches the technique.
Send a message to our Services Team and they'll be in touch to discuss your needs and get to work on a solution that suits your operation.
