S•O•S Fluid Sampling & Analysis

The Cat S•O•S™ Services Program is a mutual commitment to protect the performance and value built into your Cat equipment. The program combines the simple process of fluid sampling with state-of-the-art analysis and clear, easy-to-understand reporting via Cat S•O•S Web (from within My.Cat.Com). It creates not only optimsed machine performance, but also improved cost control. S•O•S allows you to see what is going on inside your machine and detect problems before they become serious.

Don't delay - ensure your machine is performing optimally by using Cat S•O•S Services. Here's how:

1. Take a sample

Purchase a sampling kit from Parts.Cat.Com (PCC) or over the phone on 1300 881 064. For pricing and part numbers, click here.

A small fluid sample reveals a lot about your equipment health

The Cat® S.O.S™ Services Program is a mutual commitment to keep your equipment operating at the peak of its performance.

The program offered by WesTrac combines the simple process of fluid sampling with state-of-the-art analysis and clear, easy-to-understand reporting that allows you to see what is going on inside your machine and detect problems before they become serious.

What is fluid analysis?

Fluid analysis is the process of sampling, testing and diagnosing the operating condition of fluids within your machine. The chemicals, metals and other elemental constituents found within a sample can “tip off” the health of major mechanical systems and components. We evaluate more than 30 characteristics from each sample. This allows us to gain a comprehensive picture of the health of your engine, transmission, powertrain and other wearable components. From each sample, our team is able to evaluate contamination levels, corrosion levels and stability.

The S.O.S Services Program is packed with benefits, including:

The Cat S.O.S Services Program provides you with an accurate account on the health of your equipment, giving you the ability to schedule maintenance and oil changes more efficiently.

Effective preventative maintenance is estimated to be three to ten times more cost-effective than unscheduled maintenance and repair. In many instances, S.O.S has detected the need to replace a small part, which has prevented the failure of a major component.

Our state-of-the-art ISO 9001 certified in-house laboratory is staffed by specially trained technicians, experienced in a wide range of equipment brands. WesTrac specialist technicians conduct more than 400,000 oil tests a year on Cat and non-Cat machinery.

View and analyse your fluid sample information online via My.Cat.Com (MCC) - anywhere and anytime you have an internet connection.

Why you should consider regular fluid sampling:

Your total solution for mixed fleets, 50% of all S.O.STM fluid samples come from equipment other than Cat machinery.

With state-of-the-art testing equipment capable of producing consistent quality, you’ll receive accurate, detailed results every time.

So you know what’s happening inside your machines. We’ve taken 400,000+ fluid tests in the last 12 months.

Detect small issues before they turn into big problems. More than 30 characteristics are evaluated from each fluid sample.

Caterpillar® manufactures thousands of equipment per year across the globe - we receive valuable data from this machinery and apply it to our analysis.

Fully trained and certified Cat technicians are able to support you with a phone call to discuss results and remedies.

Get to see what your eyes can’t. Evaluate your sample based upon analysis of millions of data points (parts per million).

Save on costs and downtime by preventing unexpected breakdowns. Customers who regularly use S•O•S fluid analysis can save up to 10 times more on repair than those that don’t invest in fluid sampling services.

The fluid analysis process takes a maximum 24-48 hours from when the sample is received by the lab.
