Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship

Plant Mechanics are trades persons who diagnose and repair drivelines, drive assemblies, engines, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, steering, wiring and circuits and controlling systems. At WesTrac this would include building, diagnosing and repairing the full range of Cat Fleet in NSW & Perth or FIFO from Perth to mines across WA. Residential roles are also available.

NSW Plant Mechanic apprentices are given the opportunity to opt into a Dual Trade on completion of their apprenticeship.

School requirements

  • School Leaver - OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8
  • Non-School Leaver - C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent
  • AQF - Certificate I or Certificate II

Certificate II in Engineering (Mechanical -Plant Mechanic Pre-Apprenticeship)

Qualification

AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
