BCP gets jobs done on time and on budget

Kyle Jackson, owner of BCP Group, explains why his business relies on Cat technology and WesTrac to get jobs done on time and on budget.

"Hi I'm Kyle Jackson. I'm the owner of BCP Group. BCP was established about 20 years ago. We operate throughout the south west of Western Australia.

The project we're on here is a project for Fulton Hogan and Main Roads, its the preloading works for the widening of the Bussell Highway here in Capel and GPS has been really critical to getting this job done on time and on budget.

The business has grown a lot in the last 20 years, in particular the last 5 years as we've adopted the Caterpillar GPS technology. We chose Caterpillar because it's really integrated in the machine, to the rover, to the 3D productivity on VisionLink. We can load the model in the office. We can see on in the machine. So the fact that its really integrated comes straight out of the factory, works first time, was really a big factor in us choosing Caterpillar.

We're pulling batters to within 20-30mm, first time, every time and similarly with the grader its just allowing us to get within tolerance first time with no reworks, which, for a job like this, has just been, it'd pretty much be  impossible to do it without GPS.

We've had great support from WesTrac. From Anthony Garic, when we were looking at selecting the right machine, through to Troy, the operator/demonstrator, they're always only a phone call away. If there's any issues, they'll deal with it straight away.

For a big complicated job like this, with tight tolerances, I just couldn't imagine doing a job like this without the Cat GPS technology. Versus the old school way of pegs and string line, you just couldn't imagine doing it that way."
